video of dylan shooting it!

Dylan shooting it with dad on his new hoop

When Grammy was in town she got Dylan a hoop that we can hook onto any door. He likes to put it in the kitchen because its tile so he can dribble it. We took the hoop to the basketball court at our apartment and used some bungee cords to put it onto the fence (grammys idea!). It worked great and Dylan had a blast shooting it.

relaxing sunday with friends

We had a great Sunday afternoon with friends. It was great weather and the kids were running around outside having a blast. It was so nice to have all the families together. I hope we do this again soon!!

Grammy weekend!!

We had a great weekend with Grammy! When she cam in Saturday morning we picked her up at the airport and dylan had a little pink rose for her! We went home and of course Dylan showed Grammy his skills on his basketball hoop in his room. The first thing he always wants to do when he comes home. Then we went to lunch and enjoyed a relaxing afternoon until Ish's graduation party. Around 4:00 we headed out to the party in paradise valley at this beautiful house. A friend of the family was throwing Ish a graduation celebration. We are so proud of Ish. He is such an amazing dad and the greatest friend to Mike. He had all his family there in from out of town and it was so cool to see how loved he is and proud they are of him. Of course my first, middle and last stop was holding baby Mia. That little girl is so precious and you can't help but to smile when shes around. Dylan got his Mia time in too and once again he was wonderful with her. He loves baby Mia so much! He gives her kisses and hugs every time he sees her. It was a great Saturday, and a great way to start the weekend with my mom. Then Sunday we woke up and Mike being the wonderful husband that he is made us french toast and strawberries and got my mom her starbucks... she couldnt have been happier! Then we headed out to Scottsdale to walk around Kierland Commons, have lunch, and enjoy a relaxing sunday afternoon. Sunday night we went up to Mikes parents house for an AMAZING dinner, prepared by Amy. We always love her yummy Italian cooking. My mom always enjoys going up there to visit and hangout with the Alvidrez family. She always tells me how lucky I am to have such amazing in-laws and she couldnt be more right. I am so blessed to have Mikes wonderful family so close by. Sunday night after dinner me and my mom went to see a movie and spend some time together. Our favorite thing has always been to go to movies. Then Monday we spent the day doing fun stuff for Dylans birthday!! First we went on a long walk around our apartment complex so Dylan could show Grammy his favorite things to do. We went to the basketball courts, the tennis courts, and threw rocks in all the waterfalls. Dylan loves his fun walks and especially loved having Grammy there. After our walk we spent the day doing some shopping for Dylan. We went to the Sporting Goods store and got him a portable hoop and a basketball. Then to Toysrus for a bunch of fun stuff that he LOVED. We got some lunch and went home for Dylans nap, but then when he woke up we made some homemade strawberry jello with pineapples and grapes in it. Then my mom decided she wanted to watch Dylan and let me and Mike go out to dinner together! Of course Mike is always hesitant to leave Dylan, but we convinced him Dylan would be fine. It couldnt have gone better! Dylan didnt even know we were gone. He had so much fun with Grammy coloring and doing his new puzzle. We were so happy with how well he did and I know it put mike at ease to know dylan did so well. Then we wrapped Dylans birthday presents and put a candle in the jello we made..haha. He had a BLAST opening up all the presents and blowing out his candle. No words can explain the looks on his face and how happy he was. It was the first birthday where Dylan knew what it all meant (the birthday, the birthday candle, the presents and everything). Dylan was so happy to be able to celebrate it with Grammy. It was a great end to the trip. It went by so fast, but we were so happy she came!! Miss you mom, thanks for a great weekend! We loved having you:-)
